At STAGE, we set ourselves the task of reimagining products and the way in which they function. This especially applies to our sofas. They are consistently geared towards your needs, can be flexibly designed in line with your preferences and requirements and remodified and changed time and again. In terms of looks – thanks to changeable covers and matching cushions and throws – and in terms of the shape and size. Then there is the fact that our sofas are absolute premium products of the finest quality, combining supreme workmanship with groundbreaking design.

At STAGE we set much store by exceptional quality. And of course this doesn’t come for free. All STAGE sofas are made in southern Germany – a country renowned for production at its best. It takes a number of work steps to make STAGE what it is: a modular sofa system like no other on the market in terms of its form, design and functionality. STAGE and all individuals and trades involved are performing absolutely pioneering work here.

Our aim is to develop products that not only look great, but also win admirers for their supreme variability and design flexibility as well as their premium materials and first-class quality. Accordingly, strict quality controls go without saying in the various production stages – guaranteeing you a perfect product down to the finest detail.


Plus we are fully committed to the tradition of craftsmanship. Our wooden frames, for example, are made in a carpenter's workshop run by the second generation of the same family. The owner of our upholstery factory has been working for decades as an upholsterer and manufactures for the top furniture brands in Germany. Our furniture cover fabrics are sourced from Italy. They come from the country's leading fabric manufacturer, which also supplies the Italian designer furniture brands in the premium and luxury segment. Our partners in Nepal specialise in the processing of yak and cashmere wool and make our throws under the direction of Buddhist business owners for whom humane working conditions and social security for their employees are matters close to their hearts.   

We mainly use material mixes for our cushions. Preferably natural materials such as linen, viscose and cotton. Why material mixes? It’s quite simple. Because they give our cushions that certain something and a distinctive look – by creating fascinating colour effects, for example.

Our wooden frames are made solely of lightweight wood, or more precisely – a mix of poplar and birch. These woods are perfect for making furniture. They have a low weight and are long-lasting with incredible dimensional stability. By the way, that sets us apart from many other furniture manufacturers.

At its core, a sofa from STAGE consists of four high-quality foam layers with different densities and degrees of hardness. This ensures lasting and outstandingly ergonomic seating comfort. Incidentally, did you know that most sofas only have one or two foam layers? Here, too, STAGE makes the decisive difference. Another quality feature is our close-meshed Bonnell spring core. This provides high surface elasticity and contributes to the durability of the upholstery. Furthermore, foam structures on the edges ensure long-lasting dimensional stability.

Our throws are ‘Made in the Himalayas’, or more precisely: Nepal. They are made using yak wool and fine merino wool and are classified in the same quality segment as cashmere. They are also made under fair production conditions with a high degree of expertise by a traditional partner firm. The yak wool comes from altitudes between 3,500 and 6,000 metres and is by nature especially soft, silky and warming. It is lovingly spun by hand, dyed using special formulas and blended with 30 per cent merino wool to produce an incredibly fine, lightweight and snuggly fabric. One outstanding feature of our throws is the wonderfully cashmere-like feel.   

To make sure that you get long-lasting enjoyment from your new STAGE sofa, you should not expose it to direct sunlight. The materials used mainly consist of natural materials that possess different lightfastness values. The fading of cover fabrics is an entirely natural phenomenon and cannot be prevented. Another tip: Make sure your sofa is positioned at least 30 cm from radiators.

No problem at all. You can quickly and easily remove our fabric covers. Please note, however, that we recommend dry cleaning due to the high natural material content (linen, cotton, viscose) in our covers.

Please use distilled water to treat stains. Normal tap water sometimes has a really high level of limescale, which can cause limescale stains. In addition, we recommend the care sets supplied by LCK GmbH for stain removal on textiles ( If stubborn stains cannot be removed, you can also simply take the fabric covers to a professional cleaning service.

Velvet is a tufted fabric. Pressure marks appear when the tufts do not straighten themselves out. The tufts on our velvet fabrics can be straightened out again by carefully steaming them using distilled water with no pressure and no drops of water. Alternatively, you can also lay a damp (not wet!) cloth on the tufts overnight. Please note that you should only use the treated upholstery section again once the fabric cover is completely dry. This generally takes 24 hours. You can subsequently lightly brush the velvet using a soft brush (such as a clothes brush). 


You can order fabric samples for all of our furniture covers in our online shop. Cost per sample: 1 euro. Please note that the colour samples are merely colour references that may differ from the goods actually delivered.

As soon as your order is completed, you will initially receive an automatically generated order confirmation email. Once your order has been checked by us and we have received your payment, you will be sent payment confirmation and an invoice by email. 

All of the materials used in our products – such as cover fabrics, upholstery, foam, etc. – are made far in advance and we have already paid for them. As a result, we can generally guarantee a delivery time of 9 – 11 weeks for sofas and 2–4 working days for interior articles. Without your payment in advance, we would have to additionally cover ourselves against possible payment defaults. That would make our products more expensive. And that is precisely what we wish to avoid. After all, our aim is to offer you excellent quality at a fair price. That is why you are only able to pay in advance.  

In our terms and conditions and cancellation policy, we are legally bound to refund your money if you return the product. An extended cancellation period of 30 days applies to all of our products.

Our delivery times are roughly 2–4 working days for interior articles via the normal parcel delivery network and 9 – 11 weeks for sofas sent via a transport network specialising in furniture. Even though your order is individually made according to your needs, we are able to keep to these times. This is primarily due to the proximity to our production facilities and the associated short delivery distances. The delivery time begins as soon as we have received your payment. Please note that delivery may take longer over the New Year period and in the summer months because our manufacturers are closed for holidays and stocktaking.

Unfortunately not. However, a wide range of sofa sizes is possible thanks to the numerous ways in which the available modules can be combined.

You can choose between two types of delivery here: 

1. Part-load network (kerbside delivery) 

Goods sent via the part-load network (haulage networks) are delivered to the kerbside. You will be advised in advance of your delivery slot with a four-hour window. Unfortunately, it is not possible to fix a definite time. 

Please note: 

The goods cannot be moved by one person. The items of furniture are simply too heavy and bulky. You will need another person to assist you. 

Normal screwdrivers can be used to attach the backrest modules to the seat sections. 

2. Assembly service 

You can arrange your preferred delivery time (Mon.–Fri.) with our haulage company for goods sent via our assembly service. Please note that the delivery slot has a four-hour window. Our logistics partner will contact you beforehand to make arrangements. A two-man assembly team will deliver the furniture to the desired location in your home and attach the back modules to the seat modules. This service also includes disposal of the packaging. 

Please note: 

Delivery is possible on working days from Monday to Friday (9 a.m.–6 p.m.). The goods cannot be delivered at the weekend. However, if you have a special request for your delivery, we will try to accommodate your wishes in consultation with our haulage company. Simply send an email to 

From an order value of €5.000 we off our assembly service free of charge. Delivery via the part-load network is free of charge.

Our professional assembly service will carry your furniture to the living room, assemble it in your preferred location and dispose of any packaging material. Please ensure that the items will fit through the doors and along any staircases and the path is not obstructed. Carriage to the relevant floor must be possible without technical equipment. For legal and safety reasons, it is not possible to hoist the items through windows or over balconies. You will find the precise dimensions of the delivery parcels on the relevant product page. Furthermore, for insurance reasons, the sofa must remain in its original packaging until it reaches its final destination.

When your new sofa is delivered, please take enough time to inspect the delivery. By signing for it, you are simultaneously confirming that you have duly received the goods and that your home has been left undamaged by the delivery.

Every product description states how many parts make up the consignment. Besides the number of parcels, you will also find the precise dimensions of every product.

At STAGE, delivery within Germany (excluding German islands) is free of charge.

Cancellation is possible up until the time we start making your order. If you wish to cancel your order, please send an email to

The purchase of your sofa is risk-free. We give you the opportunity to try out your sofa for 30 days. If you are still not 100% convinced after that, we will come to collect the sofa and refund your money. You simply need to inform us in writing without having to state a reason. However, we will need to charge you for the return transport costs. Refer to the cancellation policy for details of the charges.

Please note: 

- Goods can only be returned in the same manner as they were delivered using our service providers. 

- If products are collected by a service provider in our part-load network, they must be in their original packaging (undamaged) and in good condition. 

- If they are collected by our assembly service, new boxes will be brought along, the modules will be packaged on site and the goods will be taken away.

Just like our sofas, you also have the right to return our accessories (cushions, throws and cushion stuffing) within 30 days. We just need you to inform us in writing without having to state a reason. We will then send a PDF with the return form to your email address.

There is a statutory guarantee of two years.

The STAGE sofa concept was designed by Sigurd Larsen, the notable and award-winning Danish architect and furniture designer. He is a professor at the Berlin International University of Applied Sciences, has his own studio in Berlin and realises projects all over the world. He brings together the perspective of the architect and that of the interior designer like no one else. Particularly in a country like Denmark, which is in love with design, this interdisciplinary approach has a long tradition and is also wonderfully embodied in the STAGE sofas.
